Ubiquiti Rocket M2/M5 (XM) Besitzer gesucht

Auf Supported Devices & Architectures — Gluon 2023.2.2 documentation ist die Rocket nicht unter ath79-generic aufgeführt, im gluon-2023-Zweig meiner Community finde ich auch kein offensichtlich passendes Image.

Wo muss ich da suchen? Oder braucht es noch etwas?

Ich sehe sie dort eher nicht sondern eher dort:

Demnach - ich habe aber beim Lesen von derartigem Code große Defizite und bin daher für Korrekturen dankbar - wäre meiner Interpretation nach “ubnt_bullet-m-xw” das korrekte Image. Images für die Bullets wurden zumindest bislang nicht mehr von meiner Community gebaut Vielleicht mit Gluon 2025.x ja wieder …

Afaik wurden die Rocket M XM entfernt, weil sie 2022 in Openwrt zu ath79-tiny geschoben worden:

Man kann den Geräten also neuen Gluon-Support hinzufügen, wenn jemand die Checkliste durchgehen würde und sich die Mühe macht.

Ich habe das schon einmal gemacht:

Muss die Checkliste noch einmal wiederholt werden? (ich traue mir aber nicht zu, die korrekte Umgebung für ein Gluon-Build aufzusetzen, zumal try-und-error bei meiner Hardware etwas lang werden könnte).

Wenn du damit einmal die Device-Checklist erneut durchgehen könntest, wäre das super.

Der letzte Durchlauf ist leider ja wieder 2 Jahre her und wir müssten das ja mit dem aktuellen main/release testen.

Leider gab es keinen support von v2022.1.x welches das älteste supportete Upgrade von der 2025.1.x wäre - alte Geräte sollte man also händisch hoch ziehen..

Ich habe das Image geflasht und konfiguriert:

Das Ethernet-Kabel in einen LAN-Anschluss gesteckt und gewartet. Nichts passiert, keine Anforderung am DHCP-Server mit dem konfiguriertem Hostname.

LAN-Kabel in den Laptop gesteckt und - siehe da - die Rocket ist wieder im Config-Modus, hat aber keine Einstellungen gespeichert.

Wenn Du Ideen hast: gerne. Ich habe gerade keine Idee für ein sinnvolles Debugging.

Es gab eben bei den UBNT XM Geräten ein Problem mit deren Flash:

Nach dem Boot in config-moduse per ssh root@192.168.1.1 mal drauf gehen und ein dmesg und logread abspeichern und hier irgendwie posten wäre super zum Debuggen.

Ist wohl ein typisches Problem, dass manche Geräte readonly booten, wenn die firmware zu groß ist.
Die nanostation hatte ich deshalb hier auch von einigen Paketen ausgeschlossen:

Die image-customations.lua ist site-spezifisch, soweit ich das verstanden habe, müßte das Device in Gluon also mit class = 'tiny' hinzugefügt werden, damit das Image klein genug bleibt, daß noch die Konfiguration gespeichert wird — falls es denn daran lag.

Das erste Image, welches @fmaurer gebaut hat war zu gro0, das hat zu meinen anfänglichen Problemen geführt. Jetzt geht es ja.

Jetzt habe ich die Rocket gebrickt.

Was ich getan habe: bei der korrekt laufenden Software das alte “zu große” sysupgrade-Image ins Dateisystem geladen und mit sysupgrade instaliert,

Jetzt sieht das von den LEDs so aus, als würde die Rocket in den Config-Mode booten, ohne aber dass das LAN-Interface aktiv ist. Das ist Essig. Am Anfang des Boots ist das LAN Interface kurz aktiv (LED am Switch leuchtet kurz bis zum Laden von Gluon.

Der Versuch, einen Boot in den Config-Mode auszulösen scheitert (keine Reaktion), aber vermutlich bin ich in sowas wie dem Config-Modus nur ohne LAN.
